Rain
on Sept. 23rd.
Rain has again
disrupted a PASS race. Saturday the 23rd at Beech Ridge
was a total washout so qualifying for the PASS 300 was
moved to Sunday the 30th. The heats for all divisions
were just completed when a downpour turned the pits into
a series of lakes and racing stopped. Consis and the
last chance race for the Super Late Models are now on
for 6 PM on Friday the
29th while the features are scheduled for Saturday the
30th at Noon.
The Groveton PASS SLM planned for the 30th has now been
cancelled.
In SLM Heat #1 Trevor in
the #44 started at the back of the grid and could only
get up to 9th in the 20 laps. Only the top five
transferred to the feature so a run in a consi is in
order.
In SLM Heat #2 Ben in the #4 spent about half the race
dealing with slower cars before getting some running
room. Bill Whorff Jr. had cleared traffic quickly and
built up a comfortable lead. Ben caught Bill with a
couple to go and made an outside pass on the main
straight to take the heat win. |
