For 300 laps, through pit
stops and restarts, Ben battled a slippery track and
lapped traffic to move up to the front from his 11th
place starting position. Both Ben and Johnny Clark made
it onto the top five scoreboard with fifty laps to go.
Ben moved around Johnny to take 3rd when Trevor
Sanborn's leading #29 expired with 10 to go. But
Johnny's 4th means Ben picked up only 7 points for the
weekend, including 5 for his win in Saturday's Heat #2.
Combined with a win down South, Ben's finish improves
his lead in the four race PASS National Championship
series with Johnny now in second followed by Mark Gibson
and Jay Fogleman.
The PASS North Championship now comes down to the final
race at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Friday, Sept.
18th. Ben's a master of WMMP with many wins there, but
Johnny holds a 33 point lead. |
