RMR brought the car with
the big motor that's done so well done South to try to
score some better finishes up North. The North crate
motored car just hadn't been delivering the handling or
the speed for top results.
The first PASS SLM heat gave a preview of the race
action with Ben battling Travis Benjamin. The #4 and
Travis's red #17 seemed to be the class of the field.
The 150 feature saw some long green runs with only four
cautions. The battle for the lead settled down to Ben,
Travis, Johnny Clark #54, Scott Chubuck #77. and Randy
Turner #1. Positions swapped a couple of times in
traffic with Clark at one point going from first to 4th.
Travis hopped to the lead and Ben moved up to challenge.
On lap 111 with Ben on the inside of Travis in turn
four, contact between the two sent Travis into the
outside dirt bank. Ben took the responsibility for the
unintentional hit. PASS officials sent the #4 to the
back for the restart.
With only 39 laps to go, Ben fought his way from 15th up
to 6th at the checkers. Surprisingly, with 3 North races
in the books, Ben still has not scored a Top 5 finish. |
