THE WIN for BEN

For the eighth time in his career, Ben Rowe won at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH).  Rowe held off Cassius Clark and John Flemming after those drivers formed a three-car breakaway late in the race.  Rowe, Clark and Trevor Sanborn all led laps in the event. Trevor in the #44 finished in 12th.

Ben Rowe’s the King of  White Mountain
Patience won out on a short track Saturday night filled with hard racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park. Ben Rowe was able to preserve his equipment and make a lap 114 outside charge on Cassius Clark to win the 150 lap Pro All Stars Series (PASS) feature. The victory was Rowe’s eighth at the Avery family’s high banked quarter mile. John Flemming, Mike Rowe, and Richie Dearborn completed the top five.

The drop of the green flag set the tone for the night with the number 8 E.J. Prescott Ford of Cassius Clark battling side by side with the Trevor Sanborn’s Richard Moody and Sons Ford early on. Sanborn would eventually settle in behind Clark but a lap 51 restart gave Sanborn enough momentum on the outside to steal the lead away from Clark. Clark reclaimed the top spot on a lap 73 restart with Sanborn, Ben Rowe, Johnny Clark, Flemming and Derek Ramstrom giving chase as the race approached half-way.

Lapped traffic proved to be a challenge all race long as Clark and Sanborn resumed their battle. Sanborn’s shot at the win would end on lap 103 after he got into the lapped car of Steve Berry. The move prompted Berry to retaliate, spinning Sanborn into the front stretch wall and ending Berry’s night via the black flag. Sanborn continued on after repairs to finish twelfth.

The restart placed the four time PASS champ outside of Clark and Rowe continued where his teammate Sanborn left off, racing side by side with Clark until he made his lap 114 pass stick for his first victory of 2008. Other big movers of the night were last week’s Ray Haskell Ford 125 winner Johnny Clark and rookie DJ Shaw who both overcame penalties early in the race to score top tens.

Johnny Clark, Cassius Clark and Trevor Sanborn won their respective heat races.

13th Place Finish

3/22/08 - Ben and the #4r hauled down to Hickory Speedway for the PASS South Easter Bunny 150.

In Time Trials, Ben posted a 14.944 for a solid third position.

After redraw of the top 10, Ben started in 7th.

In the feature, Ben moved up to 3rd by lap 64 and into 2nd at lap 100.

Ben was running on the bumper of Jeff Choquette when a tangle with lapped traffic took both of them out. The #4 lost its rear bumper and spoiler. The RMR crew attempted to repair the damage and keep Ben on the lead lap. However the #4 fell a lap down and Ben
finished in 13th.

"Best Appearing Racecar"
Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

"We’re not sure if it is bright Corvette yellow paint, the vinyl graphics that are made in-house, the candy-apple red powercoated rollcage and chassis or just the fact it is always just so polished and clean, but there is something about Ben Rowe’s Richard Moody Racing #4 Super Late Model that the fans love.

In fact, they loved it enough to vote it as the best appearing racecar in the land by an overwhelming margin.

It could also be a matter of exposure. The team won the championship in PASS North, raced occasionally in PASS South and ACT Late Models and made trips to open shows like The Rattler and Speedfest 2007. They also ran one True Value Modified Racing Series event in 2007 with the same paint scheme on that groundpounder, which was sold and will be campaigned by the Greeley’s Garage team in TVMRS this season for David Pinkham."

NAPLES ME (March 7, 2008) - Its official: Ben Rowe will contend for a fifth Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Championship in 2008. The four time PASS North Super Late Model champ will be shooting for his second consecutive title with Richard Moody Racing.

Rowe's record is well known to fans of the Pro All Stars Series; four PASS North championships, 30 plus wins and a top three finishing average right around 65 percent. Remarkable statistics for any driver in any series, but especially impressive when you consider the depth of competition Rowe has faced over the past seven seasons.

The RMR team has an ambitious 2008 PASS campaign planned. Another PASS North title chase, a run at the first PASS National Super Late Model Championship, and as many as five additional PASS South dates are currently on their schedule.

Rowe and the Moodys seem like a match made in racing heaven. They enjoy the challenge of tour racing, whether it's a trip to the Carolinas or Maritime Canada. Richard Moody has a long and successful history in Maine motorsports, dating back to his successful pairing with "The Outlaw", Mainer Jeff Stevens. After a nineteen year hiatus from car ownership, the Moody family came back to the sport they loved, and their eventual pairing with Rowe has produced the expected results.

"Rick Moody wants to race against the toughest competition on the toughest race tracks. He will race anytime, anywhere. This whole team loves to race, just like I do, so I couldn't be in a better situation," said Rowe. "By the time we head to Hickory for the Easter Bunny we'll have three cars ready to go, two of them brand new. The competition will be tougher than ever, but if we can stay consistent and get a little racing luck, we should be able to challenge for both titles."

Says Moody," As a team, our primary focus in 2008 will be Tom Mayberry’s Pro All Stars Series, and we're looking forward to the challenge. All of the top teams look like they are coming back in 2008, and, there are some new teams coming on board that will be contenders for sure. But, we have a great race team and we're looking forward to seeing how we measure up."

The PASS South season gets underway in two weeks at Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway with the March 22nd Easter Bunny 150. The Easter Bunny is also round one of the inaugural PASS National Super Late Model Championship series. PASS North gets the green on Saturday April 19th with 150 green flag laps at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough Maine.

Moody Racing Heads to Lakeland, FL
for Speedfest 2008 on Jan. 24 to 26

RMR and Ben had a tough time at Speedfest 2008.

After posting fourth fastest in qualifying and lining up third for Friday night's 100 lap SLM North event, the #4n ruptured the oil filter on a restart on lap 13 and took a hard hit into the wall with oil on the tires. Ben was not hurt.

With no backup car available, the RMR team did not make the feature 200 lap Speedfest race.
